| So, you want to light up the tyres at the lights eh?
(Well, I hope not, because that's silly, but read on...)
Although I find that a completely standard Cowley, Oxford or Isis is a lovely car to drive and quite adequate for everyday use, that doesn't mean that you can't or shouldn't shouldn't tweak them a bit...
 | There's nothing more amusing than keeping up with much modern traffic around town in an 'old dunger'. I had an Oxford fitted with only a single SU 1622 motor fitted, yet the looks on some peoples faces as an old Oxford kept up with them was priceless!
Unfortunately, I had to swap that Oxford to get my Isis and the remains of a Series III Oxford Traveller. |
Even a standard Isis is quite a surprise to the mundane motoring masses - to the untrained eye or ear it's "just a slow old Oxford...I'll soon overtake...oh bugger - it's doing 85mph...". Imagine an Isis taken to (or past) Austin-Healey 100/6 specifications...
